More than 30 cadets from the Bloom Trail NJROTC unit recently volunteered at the Manteno Veterans Home.
Students ran errands, played games with veterans and served food.
“The kids were able to learn history firsthand from many of the veterans from World War II, Korea and Vietnam,” said Cmdr. Tim Crawford, senior naval science instructor at Bloom Trail High School.
The unit does many charity events throughout the year and is available for civic groups in the area.
