The Bloom Trail High School Navy Junior ROTC recently volunteered during the Steger Family Fest at Columbia Central Middle School.
Fifty students from Bloom’s NJROTC unit helped set up, clean up and operate games and food stands.
“The kids learned how to work with children and made sure the kids had fun,” said retired Cmdr. Timothy W. Crawford, senior naval science instructor at Bloom Trail High School.
The unit also provided a color guard for the event, which kicked off with the Columbia Central Middle School band playing the national anthem.
“The event was a success in no short part due to their effort as well as all the volunteers who pitched in,” Crawford said.
