The fine arts department at Marian Catholic High School will host its 10th annual Christmas Madrigal Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8 in the band room at the school, 700 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago Heights. Seating begins at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and include a catered dinner and a copy of the Madrigal Singers CD.
The dinner also will feature comedy entertainment by students Daniel Blewitt (king); Anna Petrelli (queen); James Breslin (court jester); and Rebecca Hauser (serving wench).
Holiday music will showcase the Marian Catholic Madrigal Singers, and Greg Bimm and the Marian Catholic band program will provide brass and flute ensembles.
The Madrigal Dinner is a modern recreation of the holiday atmosphere of Elizabethan England, where it was common practice for a lord and lady to invite 200 of their closest friends to spend the entire 12 Days of Christmas with them, complete with feasting, drinking, song and entertainment.
Reservations are required.
Information: choral director Michelle Howisen, (708) 756-9442.
