CRETE
Park district to host Chili Cook-Off
Competitor registration is required by Saturday for the Crete Park District’s eighth annual Chili Cook-Off, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Willard Wood Center, 515 First St., Crete.
There will be two prize categories: Judges Choice and Popular Vote. The cost to enter the competition is $10, and the fee to eat and vote is $6 per person.

OAK FOREST
Therapy dogs to visit library
Acorn Public Library, 15624 S. Central Ave., Oak Forest, will host a reading event for children in elementary school at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Therapy dogs Wheylan and Quincy will listen as children read stories to them. Children can sign up for 15-minute time slots until full.

EVERGREEN PARK
Library to host Peanuts Party
Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave., will host a Peanuts Party for students in fifth grade and younger at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Students will celebrate the birthday of “Peanuts” creator Charles Schulz by watching a Charlie Brown movie and making a Snoopy craft.
