Chili, charity and the Bears all come into play Dec. 2 for a day of fundraising for the Mokena Mayors Charitable Foundation.
The foundation hosts its Seventh Annual Charity Chili Party from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the William F. Martin VFW Post, 19825 S. Wolf Road. Tickets are $20 per person or $40 per family and will be sold at the door.
The cost includes chili or a hot dog, one nonalcoholic beverage and popcorn.
There also will be silent auctions and raffles to raise money to help local wounded warriors. Participants will be able to watch the Bears play the Seattle Seahawks, starting at noon.
Cooks can sign up to enter their chili and compete for prizes in the cookoff.
The Mayors Charitable Foundation also sponsors an annual carnival to raise money for local organizations, and an annual golf outing to fund scholarships for college students.
