Here is a look at upcoming auditions including the casting call for the Drama Group’s “Superior Donuts.”
THE DRAMA GROUP: Auditions for “Superior Donuts” will take place from 7-10 p.m. Dec. 17-18 at the Drama Group Studio Theatre, 330 W. 202nd St., Chicago Heights.
Callbacks, which will be by invitation only, will take place on Dec. 19.
Written by Tracy Letts, “Superior Donuts” will be directed by Cathleen Drakulich.
When a loner hippie and Chicago donut shop owner meets a young charismatic black teenager full of dreams and bright ideas, the writing is on the wall that things are going to change
This comedy-drama explores facing one’s demons, embracing one’s past and the redemptive power of friendship.
Characters that need to be cast include seven men and two women.
Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script. Each person auditioning should bring a photo of himself or herself that the production may keep.
Loaner scripts are available at the Drama Group Studio Theatre, where the show will be staged from Feb. 15-17 and 21-24.

“Superior Donuts” will be a community theater, non-Equity and non-pay production.
Billed as “bringing Broadway to the south suburbs since 1931,” the Drama Group promotes diversity in casting.
