Here is a look at upcoming auditions.
Casting calls include Theatre of Color’s “Fit to Kill” in Park Forest and the Drama Group’s “The Wiz” in Chicago Heights.
THE DRAMA GROUP: Auditions for “The Wiz” will take place for adults from 6-10 p.m. Jan. 10-11 and for children from 2-6 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Drama Group Studio Theatre, 330 W. 202nd St., Chicago Heights.
“ ‘The Wiz’ is the modern retelling of the classic story ‘The Wizard of Oz’ with a hot score featuring jazz, rhythm and blues, soul, funk and disco,” officials said. “Join Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion and, of course, Toto, and ‘Ease on Down the Road’ to be a part of the Drama Group’s fresh take on ‘The Wiz.’ ”
Directed by Tyler McMahon, the show is looking for five men, five women, an adult ensemble featuring ages 16 and older, and 15 children to 20 children who are ages 5-15. Auditions are by appointment, which can be arranged at dramagroup.org.
Each attendee should be prepared to sing a song from the show, or bring sheet music to sing a song of his or her choice. Attendees also should wear comfortable clothing for a dance-movement audition, and each attendee should bring a photo of himself or herself that the production may keep.

The show will be staged from May 3-5 at Bloom High School Auditorium, 101 W. 10th St., Chicago Heights.

THEATRE OF COLOR: Auditions for “Fit to Kill” by Victor L. Cahn will take place from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 10 at Freedom Hall’s Nathan Manilow Theatre, 410 Lakewood Blvd., Park Forest.
Producers are looking for black men and women between the ages of 25-65.

The show will be staged from April 5-7.
“Theatre of Color is an African-American theater group founded in 1995,” officials said. “Our goal is to provide quality theater in Chicago’s south suburbs utilizing the talents of African-American actors.
“From 1995 to 2000 we presented our productions at Freedom Hall’s Nathan Manilow Theatre in Park Forest. Our productions included ‘Fast Girls,’ ‘Sty of the Blind Pig,’ ‘Strange Relationships,’ ‘Sunday on the Rocks,’ ‘Make a Wish’ (children’s show), ‘Spike Heels,’ ‘Independence,’ ‘Deceptions’ and ‘Strange Relationships Part II.’
“After a 12-year absence we are happy to be back and will present our next show in April.”
Audition sides will be provided. Attendees are asked to each bring a headshot and resume if available.
Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled as follows: the read-through on Feb. 4 and rehearsals starting the week of Feb. 25 (three days a week from 7-9:30 p.m.).
Those who are cast must be available for all technical rehearsals from 6-10 p.m. April 1-4.
