Will County forest preserve wins accounting honors

The Forest Preserve District of Will County was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the district’s comprehensive annual financial report.
The achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment is a significant accomplishment by a governmental agency.
The Forest Preserve District of Will County has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for 17 straight years.
The district’s comprehensive annual financial report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes a “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the district’s financial story and to motivate potential users and groups to read the compressive report.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving about 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
