The SouthtownStar’s Feb. 13 editorial supporting Consolidated High School District 230’s policy change to allow students much more use of cellphones at school was the equivalent of a wrong number.
Cellphones don’t belong in school for any reason. If a kid has an emergency of some kind or needs to be contacted, there are telephones in the school and nurse’s office.
You mean to say that a student cannot wait until school is over to check his/her email or to send a text message? Whether they are between classes or not makes no difference.
These kids already have the cursed things attached to their ears for most of their free time. They need more cellphone time? Ridiculous.
