Tyler Ulis, of Marian Catholic, is the Beggars Pizza/SouthtownStar Boys Basketball Player of the Week.
Ulis, a junior point guard, scored 20 points, including 11 in the pivotal fourth quarter, to lead the Spartans past Crete-Monee 54-37 to win the Class 4A Marian Catholic Regional. During the game, Ulis broke the program’s single-season scoring record, previously held by Cedrick Middleton (623 points).
