Isaiah Quinn and Josh Witt, Navy Junior ROTC cadets at Bloom Trail High School in Chicago Heights, have been accepted into the summer seminar to be held at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

More than 8,200 students applied for the opportunity and 2,100 were accepted. Applicants are among the top high school students nationwide.

Quinn and Witt will be entering their senior year at Bloom Trail and will be four-year Navy Junior ROTC cadets and will have leadership positions.

The two students were among a select few who were awarded a grant to cover all camp fees and travel arrangements.

The seminar is designed for qualified candidates to experience firsthand the daily life of a cadet at the academy. By attending the seminar, the cadets are considered applicants for the academy in the fall of 2014 upon graduation from Bloom Trail.
