St. Xavier University students Malcolm Lee of Chicago Heights and Kara Lightbourne of Streamwood were crowned the winners of the 2013 Mr. Grey and Ms. Scarlet Pageant.
Participants were ranked in four categories: “Talent,” which showcased a special skill; “Business Attire,” which included contestants speaking about their studies at SXU and their career ambitions; “Night on the Town,” which featured personal hobbies and involvement on campus and “Formal Wear,” which included students speaking about SXU’s core values and how they exemplify those values.
Lightbourne’s talent was a praise dance. Lee performed a piano solo accompanied by an interpretive dance.
As winners of the pageant, they will host next year’s pageant and are encouraged to speak at local schools and be positive role models for the community.
Both students received $250 book vouchers.
