Members of the Delta Sigma Theta organization along with Crete-Monee School District 201U staff members spent a recent morning organizing and cleaning the community closet at the Crete-Monee Sixth Grade Center in Crete.

Participants included Supt. John Rodgers, board secretary Kimberly Sanders, board president Nakia Hall, Delta Sigma Theta volunteers Fontella Long and Yemonja Smalls, Sixth Grade Center social worker Cassie Reid, and Crete-Monee High School guidance counselor Linnea Hofman.

The closet contains clothing and other related items that can be donated to students and families who may be going through a difficult time.

The project was completed as an act of kindness in honor of the centennial celebration of the Delta Sigma Theta organization.
