South Holland Girl Scouts Brownie Troop 60322 and troop leaders Cheryl Crozier and Qiana Savage recently presented a special breast cancer awareness project to the mammography department at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest.
Leslie Adams, coordinator of the radiology and mammography department, educated the troop on the importance of early detection and screening of breast cancer for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Through this project, the second-grade Brownie Girl Scouts encouraged women to get annual mammograms in hopes of detecting breast cancer in its early stages.
