Seton Academy to host free concert

Performing artist Amanda Vernon will offer a free concert at 7 p.m. Jan. 14 at Seton Academy, 16100 Seton Drive, South Holland.
Vernon is a recording artist from Grand Rapids, Mich. Through a genre she calls “soulful pop,” the singer, pianist and composer speaks to beauty through music, according to a press release about the event.
Vernon, 26, has more than a decade of experience in both studio recording and live performance, the release said. She has performed her original music across the United State and in six foreign countries, including at the 2008 and 2011 World Youth Days in Sydney, Australia and Madrid, Spain. Vernon was a feature of the Youth Track of the 2006 Archbishop James Lyke Conference in Chicago, the release said.
She is traveling the United States with her husband and two children, sharing her music and message, the release said.
