BASEBALL

Southland: The South Side Wooden Bat League is an amateur league that spans Chicago and the suburbs. The league, open to players ages 17 and over, is looking for teams and players for the 2014 season. Information: Email sswbl@southsidewoodenbatleague.com; www.southsidewoodenbatleague.com.

BASKETBALL

CHEERLEADING

Glenwood: The Glenwood Cougars will hold registration for the 2014 season, open to ages 5 to 14 (not entering high school), from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10, June 14 and June 21 at the Hickery Glen Fieldhouse, 192nd Street and Minerva Avenue. Richton Park: The Richton Park Raiders, for ages 5 to 14 (not in high school), are now part of the River Valley Youth Football League and will hold cheerleading registration May 17 and June 14 and 28. DIVING

Flossmoor: The Spring II session of Viking Diving Club, open to beginner, intermediate and high-school aged divers, will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Tuesday to May 29 at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. There will also be a Saturday class from intermediate and advanced divers only from noon to 2 p.m. Saturdays from Saturday to May 31. FOOTBALL

GOLF

University Park: Deer Creek Golf Course’s Women’s League, the Deer Creek Does, will begin its 36th season in May. The league meets Tuesday mornings from May to September and is open to women with handicaps of 16 to 40. Fees: $60 dues for the season, $17 green fees and $11 cart fees per round.
