CHICAGO HEIGHTS

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Allen Lee, 57, 390 W. 16th St., #2, Chicago Heights, was charged with criminal damage to property after breaking the window of a friend’s apartment in the 400 block of West 16th Street during a March 10 argument, police said.

THEFT: A Chicago Heights woman told police someone stole her wallet from her car when she was parked March 11 at Food 4 Less, 1333 Western Ave.

DOOR DAMAGED: Robert Melone, 68, 1047 Scott Ave., Chicago Heights, was charged with criminal damage to property after breaking his own front door during a March 12 dispute, police said.

DUI ARREST: Mark Cole Jr., 27, of East Chicago, Ind., was charged with drunken driving, driving on a suspended license, no insurance and improper lane use after a March 13 stop in the first block of 14th Street, police said.

VANDALISM: A Chicago Heights man told police someone threw a rock through his window March 15 in the first block of Rosewood Lane.

THEFTS: Two mufflers and a catalytic converter were stolen March 18 from three vehicles. The thefts occurred in the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue, the 1300 block of Placente and the 1500 block of Thorn Street, police said.

CAR THEFT: A 2006 Dodge Charger was stolen March 18 or 19 in a lot in the 100 block of Halsted Street.

DUI ARREST: Aaron Tomerlin, 34, 109 Dorie Lane, Thornton, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use and driving with open alcohol after a March 19 stop in the 100 block of West 14th Street, police said.

CAR THEFT: A 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen March 19 when the owner left it running outside her home in the first block of 19th Street.

CAR DAMAGED: A brick was thrown through the driver’s side window of a car while it was being driven March 19 in the 2300 block of Chicago Road.

BATTERY: Robert Humphries, 39, of Chicago Heights, was charged with battery after pushing and grabbing a civilian employee March 20 in the lobby of the Chicago Heights Police Department, 1601 S. Halsted St., police said.

DUI CASE: McKinley Phillips Jr., 27, 4418 N. Magnolia, Chicago, was charged with drunken driving and obstructing police and was arrested on an Ottawa, Ill., warrant after a stop March 22 at 16th Street and Wilson Avenue, police said.

DUI CHARGE: Juan Alfaro, 48, 185 W. 15th St., Chicago Heights, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use, no insurance and not wearing a seat belt after being stopped March 23 in the 100 block of West 15th Street, police said.

VANDALISM: Several car windows were broken or damaged, possibly with a BB gun, March 23 on East 23rd and 22nd streets.

WHEELCHAIR STOLEN: A powered wheelchair was stolen March 25 from outside a home in the 1600 block of Buena Vista Avenue. A motorized scooter was also stolen the same night from a van parked in the 600 block of Chicago Road, along with the van’s spare tire and a floor scrubber, police said.
