EPHS band, color guard go to Liberty Bowl

The Evergreen Park Community High School Mustang Marching Band and Color Guard recently went on a performance tour of Memphis and Nashville, Tenn. The Mustangs were one of 10 bands from six states that competed.

In field show, the band received third place and caption awards for Best Percussion, Best Color Guard and Best General Effect. In parade, the band received second place and a caption award for Best Color Guard.

Both the Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble received excellent ratings for their performances, and the tour culminated with a Liberty Bowl halftime performance with KC and the Sunshine Band.
