Lion District 1A Governor Wes Salsbury was the guest of honor at a recent meeting of the Lions Club of Evergreen Park.

Salsbury spoke to club members about District 1A activities and services, as well as about Lions Club International, which oversees services for needy people with sight and hearing problems around the world.

District 1A alone sends hundreds of thousands of used eye glasses to distribution centers in Wisconsin and Indiana, where they are sorted and packaged for shipping to Third World countries around the world, club officials said.
