Here is a look at what Southlanders are accomplishing in college.
News from the SouthtownStar’s North region includes Palos Heights, Palos Park, Chicago, Oak Lawn and Alsip.
University of Iowa
Eric Randolph Reeder, of Palos Heights; Nick Joseph Karczewski, of Palos Park; and Carolyn Ann Cerney, of Chicago; all have received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Stephanie Latitia Norris, of Chicago, received a doctorate in English from the University of Iowa.
Coastal Carolina University
Jo Pieczynski, of Oak Lawn, is enrolled at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Katelyn J. Mendez, of Oak Lawn, received the Ruth Kephart Scholarship from the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Robert Morrissey Jr., of Alsip, received the William Chandler Bagley Scholarship from the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
