Here is a look at upcoming auditions.
Casting calls include auditions for the Beverly Theatre Guild’s “The Seven Year Itch.”
THE BEVERLY THEATRE GUILD: Open auditions for “The Seven Year Itch” by George Axelrod will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 10-11 at Salem United Church of Christ, 9717 S. Kostner Ave., Oak Lawn. No appointments are necessary. Callbacks will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 13.
Auditions will consist of monologues (3 minutes maximum) and/or readings from the script. Audition sides will be posted at beverlytheatreguild.org. Those auditioning should bring their headshots and resumes, if available.
“The Seven Year Itch” is a classic comedy that proves the more things change, the more they stay the same. Richard Sherman has a wife of seven years, a young son, a demanding job and all the day-to-day stress he can handle.
Stuck at home working while his family enjoys a summer vacation, Richard soon is indulging in daydreaming flights of fancy and facing temptations from all angles including a gorgeous young woman who literally drops into his life.
Richard’s journey to find himself is a wickedly funny dissection of one man’s midlife crisis, which remains as fresh now as when Marilyn Monroe famously starred in the movie version as the object of Richard’s fantasies.
Performances will take place at 8 p.m. Feb. 15-16 and 2 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Baer Theater at Morgan Park Academy Arts Center, 2153 W. 111th St. , Chicago. The show will be directed Joshua Altman.
The Beverly Theatre Guild, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is a member of the League of Chicago Theatres.
