PALOS PARK
Davis travels to Haiti
During Trinity Christian College’s two-week interim in January, Palos Park student Mark Davis got the chance to develop his knowledge of topics not typically covered in the college curriculum during a trip to Haiti.
This year’s on-campus courses covered a variety of subjects, from film studies to social justice.
Overseas in countries including Haiti, Ecuador and Cuba, students like Davis spent their interim learning about different cultures and giving of their time to serve others.

PALOS HILLS
Koraes participates in science fair
Students at Koraes Elementary School in Palos Hills recently participated in the school’s annual science fair competition.
Students in kindergarten through fourth grade presented class projects, and students in fifth through eighth grades presented projects for judging.
First-place winners included eighth-grader Alexandra Tsiakopoulos, seventh-grader Michelle Lenz, sixth-grader Georgia Lattas and fifth-grader Connie Krupa.

EVERGREEN PARK
FBLA students compete in tournament
Evergreen Park Community High School Future Business Leaders of America students recently competed at Lincoln-Way East High School during a regional competition with 300 members of other schools.
The club was led by Annie Gortowski, who competed in computer applications, and Nabeel Kassam, who competed in sports management. Each placed first in their respective events.
Emily Diamond and Eileen Rohan also won medals and third in business ethics.
