The Beverly Theatre Guild will continue its 50th season from Feb. 15-17 at Morgan Park Academy’s Arts Center in Chicago.
That’s where Joshua Altman will direct “The Seven Year Itch” by George Axelrod.
“This engaging comedy is still as contemporary as when Marilyn Monroe played a TV commercial spokesmodel that accidentally meets her neighbor, a hardworking man who has an overly active imagination that goes into overdrive while his wife and son are off vacationing for the summer,” officials said.
“Plus, there are the other characters that add to the plot of fun and frolic.”
The cast includes:
◆ Wayne Wendell, of Chicago’s Beverly community, as Richard Sherman, the husband and the overly imaginative book reader.
◆ Brianna Smitko, of Oak Lawn, as the voluptuous TV spokeswoman neighbor.
◆ Kristel Flynn, of Oak Lawn, as the wife, Helen.
◆ Matthew Dwyer, of Chicago’s Beverly community, as the young son.
◆ Bruce Fredrick, of Tinley Park, as Dr. Brubaker, the psychologist and author.
◆ Peggy Gannon, of Chicago’s Beverly community, as Elaine, a high-class friend of Helen’s.
◆ Jack Gannon, of Chicago’s Beverly community, as Tom MacJenzie, a handsome type of fella.
◆ Alexis Colianni, of Chicago, as Marie, a sexy lady that works at the United Nations.
◆ Dana Grube, of Chicago Ridge, as Miss Morris, Richard’s secretary.
◆ David Claud, of Chicago’s Beverly community, as the voice of Richard’s conscience.
In celebration of the Beverly Theatre Guild’s 50th season, all ticket-holders are invited to the VIP Lounge serving refreshments before the show and during intermission. The VIP Lounge is sponsored by Beverly Bank & Trust Co.
There also will be raffle baskets offered from community businesses, and each basket is valued at more than $100.
“This show is not only entertaining by itself. It is an event,” officials said.
All performances will be at the Baer Theater at Morgan Park Academy’s Arts Center, 2153 W. 111th Street, Chicago.
Showtimes are 8 p.m. Feb. 15-16 and 2 p.m. Feb. 16.
