The Cub Scouts of Pack 773 participated in the Scouting for Food program, which offers the Scout a hands-on approach to learning community service as well as addressing a social problem of hunger.
Scouts distributed bags to their friends and families and collected 313 food items at their meeting.
Scouts also provided bags to the parishioners at Annunciata Parish, where they collected another 808 items.
All of the nonperishable food items collected remain in the community and are donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Annunciata.
The Scouts will receive a patch for their efforts.
