Palos Heights: A Chicago White Sox summer camp, open to kids ages 5 to 11, will be held from Monday to Friday at PBO Fields, College Drive between Harlem Avenue and Southwest Highway. Ages 5 to 6 will meet from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and ages 7 to 11 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fees: $179 ages 5 and 6, $199 ages 7 to 11. Information: www.bullssoxacademy.com.
Chicago: St. Xavier University and women’s basketball coach Bob Hallberg will host a girls basketball camp, open to girls ages 7 to 15, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday at the Shannon Center on St. Xavier’s campus. Participants will be grouped by age and ability level and taught each day by Hallberg as well as SXU assistants and players. Fee: $135 (includes T-shirt). Chicago: St. Xavier Unviersity and men’s basketball coach Tom O’Malley will host a boys basketball camp, open to boys ages 9 to 15. Two sessions of the camp will be held at the Shannon Center on St. Xavier’s campus, with the first session running from 9:30 a.m. to noon Monday to Thursday and the second session from 9:30 a.m. to noon June 17 to 20. Oak Lawn: Richards High School and boys basketball coach John Chappetto will hold a summer camp for incoming high school freshman boys from 10 a.m. to noon June 17 to 20. Oak Lawn: Richards High School and softball coach Julie Folliard will host a summer camp from Monday to Thursday. The camp will be divided into two sessions. Oak Lawn: District 218 will host a Chicago White Sox baseball camp and a Chicago Bulls baseball camp from June 17 to 21 at the Administrative Center, 10701 S. Kilpatrick Ave. The baseball camp is open to kids ages 5 to 11 and meets from 9 a.m. to noon. The basketball camp is open to kids ages 5 to 12 and meets from 1 to 4 p.m. Parents who register their children for both camps will receive a discount on the camps, 10 ticket vouchers for White Sox games, and a chance to purchase Bulls tickets for next season at a reduced price. Fees: $159 for baseball camp (includes hat, T-shirt, vouchers for six White Sox games, tour of U.S. Cellular Field); $159 for basketball camp (includes T-shirt, duffel bag, basketball, tour of the United Center and a chance to meet a Bulls player or tv/radio personality).
