Marist High School in Chicago’s Mount Greenwood community marked its 50th anniversary with a special outdoor Mass on Sept. 9.

Cardinal Francis George attended the Mass at the school’s football stadium, and a community celebration also was held, according to a news release from the school.

Marist, a coed Catholic school, boasts more than 18,000 alumni and more than 1,750 current students from throughout the Southland, the release said.
