BASEBALL

Southland: Matteson/Olympia Fields Baseball, a private league working in partnership with the Olympia Fields Park District, needs coaches and board members for the 2014 season. Information: Kevin Oliver at (708) 674-7444.

Southland: The Midwest Rangers seeks players who will be 11 or 14 years old next season. The age cutoff is April 30. The Rangers is a full-time travel team that plays a competitive schedule including competing in a national World Series. Information: (708) 932-0590 or midwestsportsgroup@yahoo.com.

BASKETBALL

Southland: Faith United Methodist Church, 15101 S. 80th Ave., Orland Park, will host an intramural league at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The league is open to grades two to five. Information: (708) 444-8560.

Bridgeview: Girls basketball teams are invited to join the Bridgeview Park District’s league, which runs from December to March. Team divisions are fourth, fifth and sixth grades, and seventh and eighth grades. Games will be played at the park district’s Sports Complex Gymnasium, 8100 S. Beloit Ave. Games will take place on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Fee: $500 per team. Information: (708) 594-1818.

Chicago: Mount Carmel High School will host a grammar school tournament for eighth-grade teams Dec. 8, 14 and 15. Separate public and private school brackets will be formed, with the winners meeting in the championship. All teams are guaranteed two games each. Fee: $75. Southland: LW Elite girls basketball is looking for girls to complete the fifth-grade team, which focuses on fundamentals with the goal of advancing girls’ skills while enjoying the game. Tryouts: Ed Kmak at (708) 772-8813 or ed@worldbridgepartners.com.

SOFTBALL

Chicago: Current or former college players are being sought by the Chicago Attitude women’s fast-pitch team to compete in four weekend tournaments and round-robin play from June to August. Information: Robert Madrigal at mmadge6@aol.com.

Southland: Midwest Elite Diamond 19-and-over women’s fast-pitch club is looking for college softball players to play in summer.
