The Beverly Arts Center received a gift of $125,000 at a recent fundraising event from the Baffes Family, of County Fair, an independent grocery in Chicago’s Beverly community.
The donation put the center well on its way to meeting its fundraising goal of more than $2 million in one year.
The Baffes family is celebrating 50 years of serving area communities at County Fair, 10800 S. Western Ave., Chicago.
The BAC program included Laurel Harris, of the Broadway in Chicago cast of “Wicked,” performing “The Wizard and I” for an audience of more than 350 guests.
The not-for-profit Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago, was founded in 1968. The regional facility provides multicultural and multidiscipline fine arts education and programming for all ages.
