Here is a look at what Southlanders in the SouthtownStar’s North region are accomplishing in college.
News includes Evergreen Park, Hickory Hills, Oak Lawn, Palos Park, Burbank, Chicago, Bridgeview, Justice, Alsip, Worth, Palos Heights, Blue Island, Hometown, Chicago Ridge and Palos Hills.
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater
Allison Bachler, of Evergreen Park, and Jill Nolan, of Hickory Hills, were named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Iowa State University
Brigitte Maureen Fleckenstein, of Oak Lawn, and Corrine Elizabeth Stoffel, of Palos Park, received bachelor’s degrees from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
Katelynn Scannell, of Burbank, received a master’s degree from Maryville University in St. Louis.
Curtis Edmonds, of Chicago, was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship, based on academic achievement, leadership and personal merit at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
University of Iowa
Hussein Abdul Razick, of Bridgeview, received a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Jessica Dreher, of Justice, was honored for being an exceptional standout at Lewis University in Romeoville at the Illinois Technology Foundation’s 2013 Fifty for the Future awards.
University of St. Francis
Several area students are enrolled at the University of St. Francis in Joliet. They include:
