Here is a look at what Southlanders in the SouthtownStar’s North region are accomplishing in college.
News includes Bridgeview, Oak Lawn, Burbank, Palos Heights, Worth and Evergreen Park.
Moraine Valley Community College
Brittany Hancock, of Bridgeview, received a scholarship from Delcan Corp.’s internal scholarship program, which recognizes children of employees who have demonstrated superior academic achievement and performed community service.
She is a student at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills.
Hancock is working toward a bachelor’s degree in nursing with the goal of working in a hospital emergency room or intensive care unit.
Several area students were named to the fall term dean’s list at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. They include:
Oak Lawn — Lauren Davis and Michelle Dempster.
Burbank — Rebecca Potenberg.
Palos Heights — Margaret Richardson and Kristen Yerkes.
University of Dayton
Patrick Griffin and Alison Hopkins, both of Oak Lawn, and Colin Monnier, of Palos Heights, received bachelor’s degrees from the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Milwaukee School of Engineering
■ Matthew Morrone, of Worth, and Evan Sendra, of Oak Lawn, were named to the fall quarter dean’s list at Milwaukee School of Engineering in Wisconsin.
■ Martha Savory, of Evergreen Park, was named to the fall quarter honors list at Milwaukee School of Engineering.
