Registration is open for the Beverly Area Planning Association’s 37th Annual Ridge Run to be held May 26, organizers said in a press release.
The event will include a 10K run, 5K run/walk and Youth Mile. Runners can get $5 off the regular race fee if they register by Feb. 1, the release said. Those who register by then also will be entered in a raffle to win one of two health screenings, one valued at $750 and one at $3,500, donated by Little Company of Mary Hospital, the run’s presenting sponsor, according to the release.

The 10K and 5K runs will be chip-timed using B-tags, and all adult runners and walkers will receive T-shirts, the release said.
The Ridge Run has been certified by the Chicago Area Runners Association, the release said, meaning the race will uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines and that it will adhere to guidelines for “green” practices such as recycling and limited use of paper.
CARA is a nonprofit devoted to expanding, motivating, supporting and celebrating the running community of the Chicago area, the release said.
The Ridge Run committee invites area professional, amateur and student artists to submit designs for use on the T-shirt for the 37th Annual Ridge Run. Entries must be original art, include the Ridge Run logo, and be submitted as a PDF to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight March 1, the release said. Those who have participated in the Ridge Run over the past three decades also have a chance to win the Show Us Your Shirt Contest. Jan. 31 is the deadline to submit photos of yourself wearing a Ridge Run T-shirt in another country or a crazy location in the area.
Feb. 28 is the deadline to submit a photo of you wearing the oldest Ridge Run T-shirt you can find. March 31 is the deadline to submit a photo of you in any Ridge Run shirt, any place.
Entries can be submitted online by visiting www.facebook.com/ridgerun or emailed as jpegs or PDFs to email@example.com.
Submitting photos gives BAPA the right to use the photos in materials and online in Ridge Run publications and promotions, the release said.

Proceeds from the run serve the Beverly Hills/Morgan Park areas with programs in community safety, school support, economic development, property preservation and housing, communications and more, the release said.
