Beverly Unitarian Church will host a winter farmers market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 1 at the castle building, 10244 S. Longwood Drive, Chicago, according to the church.
Expected to be available is a wide selection of locally grown organic produce and herbs, meat from grass-fed animals, cheese, tasty soups and pestos, as well as baked goods, ice cream, yogurt, coffee and cocoa.
Local businesses also are expected to participate, the church said. The Blossom Boys will showcase a wide selection of jewelry, accessories and craft items. Horse Thief Hollow will offer free tasting samples of their own craft brew.
Offered as a public service, this late winter event provides the opportunity for local residents to buy and sample sustainably raised food while helping small farmers extend their income beyond the growing season, the church said.
