Girl Scouts name Homewood man CFO

The Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana named Scott Kappmeyer as chief financial officer.

The Homewood resident will be responsible for the long-term business and financial strategies of the council, which is the country’s largest with nearly 86,000 scouts.

Kappmeyer most recently served as senior vice president of finance and administration for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, and prior to that was chief operating officer at Grenzebach Glier & Associates. A certified public accountant, he earned his master’s in business administration from the University of Chicago.

CVB to host orientation session

The Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau will host an orientation for new or prospective members starting at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 15 at the bureau’s offices, 2304 173rd St., Lansing. There is no charge and refreshments will be served. For information, (708) 895-8200.
