Hickory Creek excels at IESA speech meet

Hickory Creek Middle School Drama Club students recently participated at the Illinois Elementary School Association speech contest.
More than 1,000 students participated, including 83 from Hickory Creek.
Students showcased their talent by performing duets, small group acting and solo events. Several students entered double events.
The Hickory Creek team earned 56 first-place ratings, 29 second-place ratings and two third-place ratings. Teachers Tricia Dotson, Renee Grady, Susan Niendorf and Pam Swierczewski are the coaches for the program.
Participating students included Mia Pranckus, Regan Sandberg, Kaylee Williams, Sabrina Corsetti, Ashley Williams, Victoria Butler, Skye Brugler, Sabrina Dobrovits, Lena Searcy, Max Martin, Matt Dunlap, Jahlil Mann, Erik Lynch, Chris Gromnicki and Tawni Wathers.
Other participants were Lauren Sandberg, Hailey Coleman, Sebastian Khattabi, Collin Kavanaugh, Charlestine Amacher, Rachel Troeger, Addy Saindon, Abby Grybas, Shannon Gaynor, Jillian Gosney, Ryan Hoffmeister, Jacob Gosney, Mary Burke and Cassidy Stolarek.
Students were awarded certificates of achievement from the Board of Education.
