Chambers invited to tour Silver Cross

Members of several area chambers of commerce are being invited to tour the new Silver Cross Hospital during a business after hours event from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9 at the hospital, 1900 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox.

Members of the Joliet, Frankfort, Homer Township, Lemont, Lockport, Manhattan, Mokena, Orland Park and New Lenox chambers are invited to take part. Chamber members can register with their respective chambers or contact Silver Cross by calling (815) 300-7562 or emailing tsimons@silvercross.org. The 289-bed hospital is scheduled to open Feb. 26.

Small-business loan workshop at library

SCORE Chicago, a nonprofit association and resource partner of the Small Business Administration, will present a free four-part workshop series titled “All Loans — Stepping Stones to Financing Small Businesses” at the Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Blvd.

The workshops will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28. Attendees should bring pencil, paper and a calculator. The workshops will be presented by Wilbur Pelt, a cash flow consultant with Matrix Equity.
