All-class reunion for Mokena grade schools June 23

An all-class picnic reunion for students and teachers of all Mokena grade schools is scheduled, rain or shine, from noon to 7 p.m. June 23 at the Hickory Creek Forest Preserve at Hickory Hollow picnic shelter, 10417 W. La Porte Road, Mokena.

The $10 cost (children under 12 are free) includes hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, chips, sweet corn, potato salad, cole slaw, pop and water. Lunch is to be served at 2 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m. Guests should bring a dish to share, and their own lawn chairs.

Checks, payable to Debra Strong with “picnic” in the memo, should be sent by June 16 to Tim Howe, P.O. Box 84, New Lenox, IL 60451. Include a post-it note with the number of attendees and number of kids under 12.

A free Mokena photo exhibit will be at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10731 W. La Porte Road, from 2 to 4 p.m. that day. The church is within walking distance of the picnic site via a bike trail. Parking is permitted at the church.
