Updated: July 8, 2012 6:53PM

NEW LENOX — Police say a burglar took garage door openers from the vehicles he entered to break into houses.

Brysen J. Bradberry, 21, of 22 Union St. in Joliet, was booked into the county jail Tuesday on charges of residential burglary, identity theft and burglary.

According to reports, over the last month Bradberry broke into five vehicles parked in the Metra parking lots, but was spotted by recently installed surveillance cameras.

“Bradberry targeted vehicles in which he could see a garage door opener,” reports said. “After gaining access to the vehicle, valuables and registration information would be stolen.”

Bradberry allegedly used the information to burglarize houses in Channahon, Joliet, Lockport, Orland Park and Romeoville, as well as New Lenox.

After his arrest, detectives reportedly found televisions, jewelry, sports memorabilia, cameras and other electronics were recovered.

According to reports, Bradberry is on probation for burglary.
