MIDLOTHIAN
Village to host Independence Day Parade
The village of Midlothian and the Midlothian Veterans’ Committee will host an Independence Day Parade at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The parade will step off from the parking lot of Grill’s Hardware, 4751 W. 147th St., Midlothian.

Library to host AARP course
Midlothian Public Library, 14701 S. Kenton Ave., will host an AARP Driver Safety program from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
The course is aimed at drivers age 50 and older who want a refresher course on avoiding driving hazards that can lead to accidents. Drivers who complete the eight-hour course may be eligible for car insurance premium reduction.
The course costs $12 for AARP members who show a valid membership card and $14 for nonmembers. Payment (by check made out to AARP) must be made to the instructor at the start of class.
Participants should have their AARP membership cards ready when registering or making a payment. Registration is required.

FRANKFORT
Filipino Folk Fusion to perform
A group of Filipino musicians who have performed throughout the Midwest and in Spain will share their traditional folk and contemporary music at an upcoming Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary club meeting.
Filipino Folk Fusion, which recently performed at the Pope’s World Youth Day MacroFestival Concert in Spain, will perform a few songs at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Lincoln-Way North High School, 19900 S. Harlem Ave. Frankfort.
The group will sing Filipino songs that artists such as Nat “King” Cole sang in both English and the Filipino language. The group also will discuss how the Filipino art and music are influenced by the American culture.

RICHTON PARK
Library to host digital photography class
Richton Park Public Library, 4045 Sauk Trail, will host its “Digital Photography: Vacation Edition” program for adults from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The program is for adults who wish to get a jump start into the world of digital photography and will feature an emphasis on vacation photos. Registration is required.
