BASEBALL
Frankfort: The Frankfort Force full-time travel team will hold 2013 tryouts for age groups 10U to 14U from Monday to Saturday at Commissioners Park, 22108 S. 80th Ave., except for 14U tryouts, which will be at Main Park, 200 S. Manhattan: The Manhattan Badgers full-time travel team will hold tryouts for 2013 teams at the following levels: 8U, 10U, 11U and 12U. Tryouts will be Saturday and July 22 at Christian Youth Center, 1110 Manhattan Road, Joliet. Private tryouts can be scheduled for those who can’t attend. The teams will compete in the Southwest Suburbs’ I-80 League, and the 12U team is registered for the 2014 Cooperstown Classic. Mokena: The registration deadline is Friday for the Mokena Park District’s men’s adult 8-on-8 flag football league. Games will be played from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays from Aug. 4 to Oct. 20 at The Oaks Recreation & Fitness Center, 10847 LaPorte Road. Each team is guaranteed 10 games, and there will be cash prizes for league winners. Rosters must be between 10 and 20 players. Fee: $750 per team (additional fee for nonresidents). Oak Forest: The Oak Forest Park District’s second session of adult lessons will be held Saturdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday to Aug. 18 at Silver Lake Country Club, 14700 S. 82nd Ave., Orland Park. Participants must be 16 or older. Fees: $91, plus $10 range ball fee payable at the first lesson. At each class session, students will receive a pass for nine holes on the Rolling Hills Course.
