The Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Board of Education recently honored nine adults and four students during its 20th annual Extra Effort Awards.
The adult recipients included Jim and Barb Stellwagen; Steve Hogan, Randy Baum, Alan Spaeth, John Teerling, Will County Det. Sgt. Duane Davis; and Mark and Gayle Giovanazzi.
Student recipients included Emily Rago from Lincoln-Way Central; Ryan Smetana from Lincoln-Way East; Alexandra Horton from Lincoln-Way North; and Erica Crimmins from Lincoln-Way West.
“The awards are given to citizens who have shown exemplary school spirit,” said Supt. Lawrence A. Wyllie. “They have gone above and beyond the active parent or community member. The persons selected for this district wide honor have truly put forth that extra effort that makes Lincoln-Way High School District 210 the special school district that is it today.”
In 2005 the Lincoln-Way District 210 Extra Effort recognition program began honoring Lincoln-Way students as well as community members. Four students were chosen this year for the award.
“The students that were selected have demonstrated they go that extra mile to help others and to make their school a better place for all students,” Wyllie said.
