Grace Hilgenbrink, a senior at Lincoln-Way Central High School, is hoping to end her high school tennis career with a second trip to the state meet in October.
Hilgenbrink and her doubles partner lost their only match at the 2011 state meet.
Who would your celebrity prom date be and why?
Liam Payne from One Direction. He is super cute and funny!
What’s the first thing you would do if you were president?
Create new jobs.
What is your favorite pig-out food?
Definitely cheese pizza.
Nobody knows…
I was in gymnastics for two years.
What’s on your iPod?
Taylor Swift.
What’s your most memorable athletic moment so far?
Beating our rivals (Lincoln-Way North’s Kelly and Kim Stremme) to place third in the sectional last year and advance to state.
Why tennis?
I started in sixth grade and fell in love with the sport. It is fun to play and keeps you on your feet.
Who are your favorite athletes?
Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Maria Sharipova
What part of your game do you need to work on the most?
I need to work on getting more of my first serves in.
What are you goals for the season?
Qualify for the IHSA state tournament and place.
