BASEBALL
Orland Hills: The Orland Hills Wolves will conduct tryouts for its 10U full-time travel team from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Ridgegate Park, 17001 S. 94th Ave. Players need to attend just one tryout. CHEERLEADING
New Lenox: Providence Catholic High School’s varsity cheerleaders will host a clinic for kids in kindergarten to eighth grade from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 6. Teams and individuals are welcome. FISHING
Orland Park: A Fall Fishing Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Alden Estates of Orland Park’s fully stocked fishing pond at 16450 S. 97th Ave. Admission is free; just bring your pole. Information: (708) 403-6500.
Southland: Oak Lawn Community High School’s fishing team and Rayjus Outdoors will host the third annual Rayjus Outdoors—Oak Lawn High School Bass Tournament on Oct. 13 at the Des Plaines Conservation Area in Wilmington. Information: Email Chris Kuchyt, ckuchyt@olchs.org.
LACROSSE
Oak Forest: The Oak Forest Park District’s fall program, for boys and girls in grades three to eight, will run from noon to 2 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 21 at Scarlet Oak School. RUNNING
Frankfort: The Lincoln-Way North High School athletic boosters will host their annual 5K Phun Run-Walk on Sept. 30. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., with the race at 8. Fees: $25 adults ($30 day of race), $15 high school students, $10 students in grades six to eight, free for children in fifth grade or below. A registration form is available at www.lwnab.org. Midlothian: The second annual St. Christopher 5K Walk-Run will be held at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 13, through Midlothian and Crestwood. Proceeds benefit St. Christopher School.
