Park district to host Computer Explorers
The Frankfort Park District will hold its Computer Explorers movie classes for students ages 8 to 12 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning this Thursday through Dec. 20.
Participants will work in teams to create an original movie. The cost is $85 for residents or $90 for nonresidents.

CHICAGO
SXU to host jazz concert
Saint Xavier University will host the SXU Guitar Ensemble and Jazz Combo at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the school, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
Performances are free for all SXU students, faculty and staff with an ID. General admission is $6, and admission for senior citizens and visiting students is $5.

PARK FOREST
Woodland Carols coming to Thorn Creek
Thorn Creek Nature Center, 247 Monee Road, Park Forest, will host its annual Woodland Carols holiday food drive for the Rich Township Food Pantry from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The event will feature homemade soups and seasonal music. The cost is $10 or one bag of groceries per person. Donations can be dropped off from noon to 4 p.m. through Sunday at the nature center.
