How did you get started in the sport?
My mom took me to a little toddler gymnastics class when I was 4, and when I got home I couldn’t stop running around the house trying to do what the big girls at the gym were doing. I quickly realized I was going to love the sport.
What was your most embarrassing moment in the sport?
Last year at sectionals, when I didn’t get the right entry for my vault I would have wanted, I pretty much face-planted.
How long could you survive without texting?
I have survived a week at gymnastics camp without my phone, so I think I could last a while without texting — but definitely not forever!
What is something most people don’t know about you?
Off the gymnastics floor, I’m usually shy.
What is on your iPod/mp3 player?
When it comes to music I listen to everything from Taylor Swift to Will.i.am, and pretty much anything on iTunes Top 10 I love too.
If you could have lunch with any three people who would they be?
Hillary Clinton, Taylor Swift and Aly Raisman. They are all strong role models, and have all accomplished so much in the areas they specialize in. I feel like lunch with them would be really fun. I would be able to learn a lot from their experiences.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, what would it be called?
“Never Back Down”.
Who would play you?
As told to Jeff Vorva
