Facts and myths about severe weather, and information on safety and emergency preparedness will be presented at a free expo March 5 at Lincoln-Way West High School’s performing arts center, 21701 Gougar Road, New Lenox.
From 5 to 7 p.m., visitors can speak to experts from about 50 organizations, who will provide information related to health, safety, fitness, preparedness and emergency response.
A severe weather preparedness workshop is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to monitor the weather, receive and understand watches and warnings, and protect themselves from tornadoes and other storm hazards. The program is appropriate for students of at least middle school age, as well as adults.
