Frankfort Square woman abducted in car

Updated: April 7, 2013 1:25PM

Will County sheriff’s police are looking for three men who forced a 70-year-old Frankfort Square woman into a car at gunpoint and drove around trying to withdraw money with her ATM card.

Police said the woman was in her driveway at 10 p.m. Monday in the 8200 block of Chestnut Drive when she was called over to a car two driveways down.

One of three men in the car pulled a gun and ordered the woman into the back of the car, a four-door gray sedan, according to police. They said one of the men took the woman’s car keys and stole her car, which later was recovered.

The two remaining men drove around with the woman for about an hour, with the men asking the woman how much money she had, and they tried to use her ATM card, police said. They said the men let her out of the car, and she walked to a nearby gas station in Country Club Hills, where she reported the incident to a police officer.

“She had been through a traumatic situation, and I think any of us would be, under those circumstances, a bit traumatized,” sheriff’s police spokesman Ken Kaupus said.

He said the woman did not know the robbers, who told her they would not harm her if she cooperated.
