One person was hurt and traffic on eastbound I-80 was shut down for about a half-hour Friday afternoon after a car rear-ended a semi truck near Wolf Road, Illinois State Police said.
The driver of a white Acura that rear-ended the truck had to be extricated and was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Master Sgt. Jeff Padilla said. The driver’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, and there were no passengers in the car, Padilla said.
The accident happened about 2:20 p.m. All lanes were expected to reopen about 3 p.m., police said.
