Foundation gives nearly $127K to Summit Hill SD 161

The Summit Hill Educational Foundation recently extended a year-end “thank you” to all who supported the Summit Hill School District 161 students.

The foundation was able to give nearly $127,000 to the district through fundraisers and events held throughout the school year.

The foundation funded 100 percent of the teacher-requested grants in the amount of $55,862.85 for items needed in the classrooms. A total of $52,000 was allocated to funding wireless access at two of the District 161 schools.

The remaining funds will be used on more technology enhancements for the district in assisting with technology plans and whatever is need to meet the new common core standards.
