L-Way Youth Strings sign-up is Sept. 7

Lincoln-Way Youth Strings fall registration will be 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 7 at Lincoln-Way North High School, 19900 S. Harlem Ave., Frankfort.

Rehearsals will be Saturday mornings at the school.

Lincoln-Way Youth Strings is for any student beginner through eighth grade who already plays or is interested in learning the violin, viola, cello or string bass. There are four orchestras in the program, ranging from beginning to advanced.

Beginning orchestra is open to students starting in fourth grade. Students may also begin in fifth through eighth grades.

The cost is $150 a semester.

Beginner players can be sized for an instrument by an instrument rental company at registration.
