Frankfort: A Chicago White Sox Hitting Club, open to ages 6 to 11, will be hosted by the Frankfort Park District on Mondays to Nov. 4 at Grand Prairie Elementary School in Frankfort. Ages 6 to 8 meet from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. and ages 9 to 11 meet from 5:45 to 7 p.m. The class is led by Elite Academy instructors who will teach step-by-step hitting the same way White Sox players are taught. Orland Park: Faith United Methodist Church, 15101 S. 80th Ave., Orland Park, conducts tryouts for the Faith Falcons basketball program, open to boys in grades six to eight, from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 29. The team will compete in league games Sunday afternoons from Nov. 24 to March. An intramural league also will take place at the church at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays from Oct. 24 to Dec. 5. The league is open to boys and girls in grades two to five.
